Volvo Repair: 98 s40 immobilizer problem, cam sensor, door key

Hi.
My 98 s40 2.0 is having a problem for 1 month. Most of the time when starting, the engine doesnt start although all the electrical system works. Sometimes at second attempt, sometimes at 10th attempt,it works. Interesting is that sometimes it works like a clock. Is it the keys (both keys have the same problem) or the ring ? I also have to mention that my car's alarm system doesnt work properly. It always beeps when I lock the car by remote. I need to lock the car with the door key, unlock it by remote control. Might this locking and unlocking prodecure have a relation with the immobilizer's problem ?

Fault codes need to be read.The ring is a good guess.I'm not sure I understand the immobilizer problem. I believe it should beep when locking/unlocking.This could be a cam sensor problem, if I am understanding you correctly. Is it a crank no start situation or no crank/no start
