Volvo Repair: 98 V70/XC, many different things, cam sensor

Question
Howdy, I have read some of the ?'S posted previous. Here is mine. My XC70 has decided to start stalling intermittently not necessarily only on deceleration, but also acceleration. I had just traveled a bunch of miles so I have been changing oil, air filters, spark plugs,to try to remedy why its stalling in the middle of the intersection or just not starting at all. Then sometimes it runs purrrfect, and BAM out of nowhere dies no power. Battery is fine. ignition/ starter had been replaced in the last year. My engine light has been on but it isn't getting hot or cold and it idles steady just below 1. Until it chugs to die. We will be changing the fuel filter, but haven't figured out where its located maybe you could also answer that. It almost seems like it has been flooded when it stalls. This is my 5th Volvo- I finally found the model I like the most. And so with 120k+ miles it looks like I'm starting to have lots of headache, And I just purchased it from auction, the history says it has been serviced completely by the previous owner at the dealer. I'm ready to go to school to be a Volvo tech. because I love these cars so much! Can you help =0)) Lisa Thanks so much really, really appreciate it!

Answer
You should get the fault codes read. From the sound of things it could be cam sensor or air intake sensor. Possible fuel pump or relay. Could even be throttle body. These symptoms can be caused by many different things, least of all being the fuel filter. It is located in the rear under a panel, its not the easiest access. I wouldn't want to replace one without a lift.
