Volvo Repair: Fuel Problems, harbor freight tools, noid light

Question
QUESTION: Hello ,
I've got an 88 740 volvo with the 2.3 engine . Had replace both fuel pumps , filter and relay a few months back then went ona 2000 mile round trip and the car ran great . Been doing well for the wife till the other morning it won't start . It's getting fire every where and fuel all the way up to the injectors . The injectors are not opening at all, could this be the ECU ? Your opinion would be greatly appreciated .
Thx , Earl

ANSWER: Earl, Its a possiblility. I have a test relay that I use to test the ECU.  Do you happen to have a noid light set to test injector pulse?  Roger

QUESTION: I sure don't have a noid light set Roger . To be honest I'd never heard of one , I'm just one of them guys thats always read, then try and do my own work..(good old Haynes).lol . I had took a circuit tester tho and am getting continuance current off one side of each injector plug adapter . Wrong tester for the job then ?

Answer
Earl, Haynes is nothing but toilet paper.  It gets people into trouble.  You can get a noid set cheap at Harbor Freight tools or Northern tools.  Yeah, you need to see if injectors are pulsing when you cdrank the car.  Most likely it will be the ECU if you are telling me that everything else is okay.  Roger
