Question
QUESTION: My 850 has stalled at idle a few times in the past 4 months. It runs rough at idle mostly when I first start it up(cold). Sometimes when first start it reves and idles erratic for a short time. I am getting a fault code 232. I have cleaned the MAF sensor but the 232 continues to recur.  What is the most likely problem. Thank you.

ANSWER: Try cleaning the throttle body assembly. Also Check for vacuum leaks in the intake hose and manifold area.Pay close attention to the underside of the intake hose and a vacuum elbow located on the passenger side of the intake manifold behind the power steering pump.

QUESTION: Bingo! Thank you sooo much for the info! I discovered the vacuum line behind the power steering pump disconnected. When I plug the hose the car runs good. I will replace with new rubber, but can't see where it plugs into. It comes out of the end of the intake manifold but where does the other end plug in at?

Answer
Don't pull the whole thing out! That will make it alot bigger job! You can get just the elbow from the dealer or possibly just a auto parts store. A couple of long needle nose pliers will allow you to access the elbow, just pull it off and push on the new one. Ten minutes tops! Shops charge an hour or more for that repair! If it helps you can pull off the thermostat housing (2 bolts)that will give you a little more room.Don't forget to top off your coolant.
