Volvo Repair: fan, vacuum tubes, volvo dealer

Question
Hi,

My wife owns a Volvo 760 Turbo, 1987.
Since last month the fan won't work anymore, so no ac or heating inside.
I checked all the fuses, but there didn't seem to be the problem.
Could this be the fan itself, and if yes, where the heck is that thing located? And can I replace it myself? Or is there maybe a problem with the vacuum-tubes, even though I opened up the passengerside covers, but nothing seems to be out of the ordinary?
Thanks for your answer Paul. And if you can't give me advise, because you haven't seen the car, then we have to take it to the Volvo dealer in Saskatoon.

Will.

Answer
Will, Its Roger, not Paul but anyway.  Most likely it is the fan. 20 years old and its probably long gone.  You can do the fan yourself.  Its not too bad to do.  Its under the passenger foot kick area.  You will need to remove the glovebox assembly, and ECU cover.  REmove the ECU and brackett, then there are 7mm screws that hold the fan in.  Check it out and see if you want to tackle the job.  Roger
