Question
Roger,

My check engine light is on on my 98 C70.  As soon as I fire-up the engine the fan turns on.  The temperature gage inside the cabin is fine and the heat does work.  Additionally, I replaced the air pump and check valve last May.....  Could it be a temperature sensor?  If so where could I find it?  Any light you could shed on the situation would be great.  Thank You for your help!

Answer
PK, I would need to know the code before I can tell you whats going on but its not unusual for the fan to kick on at start up, especially if the A.C is on.  Usually the sensor on the Tsat housing goes bad on these cars but without scanning it, I would only be guessing.  Roger
