Volvo Repair: on and off check engine lights, volvo s 40, volvo owner

Question
Dear Roger,
I have a 2001 Volvo S-40. I have bought it 4 times to a Volvo dealer repair for 4 times already. The check engine lights keeps coming back. They told a code 420 is for catalytic converter, however, they told that the converter is not bad, and if it was the issue, the lights would come out in every 50-100 miles. They drove it one time for 800 miles and drove it lately for 200 miles and the light just came back yesterday. They told me that the light is caused
by something else w/c they cant figure out, I am getting frustrated and tired of this issue. I'll appreciate any advice from you. Thanks for your valuable time and more power.
Dan,
Volvo owner

Answer
DAn, What those morons should have done is replace the cat.  It is covered under the emissions warranty. We get cars with those codes and the local dealer takes care of it.  I dont understand some dealers.  I would get Volvo Tech services involved.  Call the 800 number and see if you can get some action.  Roger
