Volvo Repair: Buying Used 1992 Volvo 940gl, condition leather seats, great car

Question
Hi - I'm looking at a 1992 940gl that has just over 200,000 miles on it. All items are working - I drove it and it seemed pretty solid. The person I'm buying it from has had a good volvo mechanic (that I know) check it out and updated all the basic items. The body and interior are in nice condition - leather seats, power windows, etc. The bumpers have discoloration though. The price is around $2800 - does that seem high considering the mileage? I've heard 940s can last a long time. I was thinking of offering close to $2000 or just under. Mostly need it as a basic car to drive to work. Are there specific items to check out/watch for when looking at buying this particular model/year with this much mileage? Thanks for any suggestions.

Answer
Jeff, remember 1 thing first.  Mileage is Nothing for a Volvo.  The higher the mileage the better.  200k is just warming up.  Its still new.  I would offer $2500.  That is a great car. Nothing specific.  Just make sure timing belt was done at the 200k service.  Everything else is just normal wear and tear.  Roger
