Volvo Repair: wiper arm removal 2002 s60 2.4t volvo, merry christmas, rags

How do you remove the windshied wiper arm off the shaft without damaging the cover. Do you need a puller of some sort?

Answer
    Flip up the cover where the arm attaches to the post. Remove the nut, lift wiper off of windshield to relieve pressure. Usually just wiggle it back and forth and it will pull off. I've never needed a puller. If it's really stuck, put a ouple of rags over the paint and pry "gently" and evenly with two screwdrivers. Worst case, get a helper, pry as above and have the helper "gently" tap on the post you removed the nut from and it should pop off.
