QuestionThanks for the response. Can I access/change the harness through the rear door? Is this an easy repair? I'm a fair backyard mechanic (...just put a water pump and radiator in with minimal problem). Thanks again!

Hello and thanks! Maybe you can give me some advice in regards to the following. Whenever I step on the brake pedal (of my 1991 Volvo 240 Wagon) my rear defroster switch light goes on on the dash board. Also, if I put on my rear wipers, the rear defroster light will also glow (go on), but not as brightly. FYI, all three are routed to the back of the car.

Bill, The tailgate harnesses are broken. There are 2. Both will have to be replaced to solve the problem. Roger
AnswerBill, Well, Its easier if you had a trans jack but a piece of lumber will work. You have to remove the latches to do them. Do one side at a time. Yes they are in the tailgate. you have to remove the panel and fish the new harness through. Study it and see if you want to tackle the job. Roger
