Volvo Repair: trip meter/odometer, trip meter, odometer

i have a 96 volvo and while driving down the rd i attempted to reset the trip meter, now neither the trip or the odometer works....is this resettable or do i have to replace the cluster.

Jack, Im assuming you have a 850.  NEVER reset the odometer while the car is in motion.  You broken the little gear inside the odometer motor.  Luckily it is replaceable.  Part is about 25 bucks and labor is no more than 2 hours.  Have a Volvo shop perform the repairs.  Guys garage will just mess things up.  Roger
