Volvo Repair: 2000 S40 electrical Problems, hazard flasher, electronic module

we just purchased this car for my son and the wind shield wipers work sometimes and sometimes they dont. The blinkers work only by putting a piece of thick paper up under the hazard (flasher) button, and the left corner rear parking light will work only by hitting it till it comes on, the same with rear seat reading lights. I have to push around on the horn some to get it to work. The car runs like a dream so far, but what is going on in the electrical dept?

Vicki, its called S40 woes.  They dont usually all go out like this at the same time but things do happen.  The wipers can be 2 things, one is the motor and the other is the Central Electronic Module or CEM.  Sounds like you need a new flasher switch.  REar set light may be a loose connection.  Left corner light is a bulb or connection.  Roger
