Nissan Repair: Fuel Injectors, fuel pressure gauge, nissan nx 1600

Question
Puzzeled!!! I have a 1991 Nissan NX 1600 and I'm getting fuel into the engine.  I traced the fuel line and did not see any other device that fuel could be entering into the engine other than the injectors. How do I trubleshoot this problem.  Thanks in advance for your help... Bruce

Answer
Bruce,

If the injectors are stuck open they will leak, even with the engine off, and flood the cylinders.  Now, if it were me I would be looking at a fuel pressure gauge from the parts store to check the fuel rail pressure three ways.  Screw it into the schrader valve and check the presure with the key to on, running and then turn the car off.  Pressure should be held for a time once the key is off.  If not you have injectors that are leaking.  Take the plugs out of each hole and note which ones are really black and that is where the stuck injectors are.  They should not all go bad at once.  Wrecking yard like Pick Your Part is a cheap way to get a whole set.  Just ohm them out so they match and make sure you get them from the same basic year and model.
