Volvo Repair: 1990 Volvo 740 GL - Starting problems, volvo 740 gl, volvo 740

Question
1990 Volvo 740 GL w/ 287K won't start most of the time (engine doesn't turn over) and when it does start it doesn't stay running.  Got it to start once yesterday and it ran for 10 minutes then died.  Got it started today a few times, but only for a few minutes.  Disconected fuel line at exit side of fuel filter to verify pump works.  Disconected 1 Fuel injector from fuel rail to verify fuel is getting TO the fuel rail.  Is there a way to test the injectors themselves?  What else could cause it not to start/turn-over?  What else should I check?  Thank you.

Answer
Chris, sounds like you have a few issues going on.  If it doesnt stay running, it may be a faulty airmass meter, or a throtle cleaning and adjustment.  you also may be having a temperamental fuel system relay.  The only way to test them is to have the car running and to feel if they are clicking or disconnect each injector and see if it changes the way the car runs when its plugged back in.  Start there and get back to me.  Roger
