Volvo Repair: Rear Door wont open, s80 t6, exact situation

I have a 2000 S80 T6 and the rear driver door will not open.  The child lock is engaged so my only option is from the outside.  have you heard of this problem?  How may dealer labor hours do you think (just a good guess is all) it will take to fix it? Are there any recalls for this?

No recalls.  What has happened is the pushrod has fallen off.  They will need to break open the door panel somehow to actuate the door lock manually from the inside of the door.  The labor will vary, it depends on the exact situation or how they want to approach it.  I have most luck working the door panel from the inside, some people try to pry the door open a little to disengage the child lock.  Others may drill through the door handle to access an opening.  Something will most likely break in the process so get a good idea of what they are going to attempt first.  It will be a couple of hours mosr likely.
