Volvo Repair: Brake Pads, volvo s60, 2001 volvo s60

Question
My wife has a 2001 Volvo s60 with 60,000 miles. Pads have 7mm. My understanding is that the pads start out at about 12mm and should be replaced at 3mm.

If this is correct it suggests that they will need to be replaced at about 95,000. Seems like a long time; but, this is our first Volvo. Am I correct?

Answer
Robert, I dont measure them. If they look low, I replace them.  I can tell by milage when they need to be replaced.  You should get between 20-30 K miles on a set of pads depending on your driving.  Hope this helped.  Roger

Robert, thanks for the low remark on knowledge.  When you read garbage material like haynes or chiltons and come up with ridiculous measurements then this is the response you get.  Good day.  Roger
