Volvo Repair: S40 break lights, side markers, driving at night

Question
Hello Roger,

I have an 02 S40.As I was checkin for some problems with the fuse on my sunroof I pulled out the wrong fuse. The fuse I pulled out was the fuse for the break lights and the side markers. Next thing is that the break lights wont come on unless I step on the break. I tried replacing the switch, and nothing. Im afraid im getting a ticket driving at night.
What do you think might be happening? What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hugo, Thats what is supposed to happen when you put your foot on the brake, the lights come on.  Are you talking about your parking lights?  If so, then that is a different deal and you need to take this to the dealer.  One of the module needs to be reset or have a download.  Roger
