Question1994 SLS Northstar. Check engine soon light is comming on. Sometimes stays on all the time, sometimes when i've been driving awhile, sometimes not at all. Cadillac dealer can't find anything wrong after diagnostics because" the light is not on when he checks it." It did have some history codes in there and my service ride control light was unpluged. After plugging it back in they said codes went away. I do need a blower motor for sure, and car seems to be running hot, 220 is what it says. Car is running fine but the light worries me. Also, when light is on, sometimes I can smell some kind of an oder, which makes me believe it's in the emission system somewhere. Hope you can help.
Answernormal engine temp on this vehicle is 220 to 240 degrees.
next time the check engine light comes on:
do this procedure :
1. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on the control panel.
2. Write down exactly in order any LETTER/NUMBER combinations that appear until you see PCM?.
3. shur off car.
