Volvo Repair: AC is musty-how do I eliminate the odor, musty odor, welcome thanks

General question regarding AC.  The AC has a musty odor. Is there anything I can spray into the return to eliminate the odor?  It smells musty.  I have had rental cars in the deep south that have this odor. any advice is welcome. thanks.

Bryan, depends on the model.  Since you didnt tell me which model you have I will use a 850 as an example.  You can spray this treatment on the evaporator core and it will be okay for a while but the proper repair would be to replace the evap.  Mold and stuff gets imbedded in there and causes that smell.  You can also try. Frigi-fresh and it will also help for a little while.  Roger
