Volvo Repair: hi, alram, volvo 850

do you happen to know anything about a 96 volvo 850 alram system as i lost the key and would like to reset to progran another remote key to the system

John, The keys are normal keys on these cars.  The remotes can be reprogrammed however.  sit in the car with the hood closed as well as the doors.  Turn the key on and off 5 times and keep the key in the on position the last time.  Dont start the car.  Now hit the unlock button on the remote, then the lock.  Turn key off and that remote should be set.  If it doesnt work, try again.  Also check battery in the remote.  Roger
