Volvo Repair: the fan, volvo crosscountry, hot weather

2002 volvo crosscountry. In this really hot  weather, I have noticed that the fan on  my volvo will stay on for a long period of time, up to one hour after i have stpooed the car and turned the engine off. I left the car outdoors after driving in the hot weather and one hour later the fan was on and when i opened the car, very hot air was being blown out of the airconditioning vents. one garage tells me this is not normal and to bring the car in. Another garage says it is completely normal.Apparently there was a recall on volvo fans some years ago and i did not own the car then but was told by the vendor that it was replaced during the recall.

Clare, that is very normal.  It is designed to dry the A/c evaporator.  Of course the one garage says its not normal, they want you to bring the car in and get ripped off.  There is always some joker out there trying to make money on stuff they have no idea on.  Roger
