Volvo Repair: power windows dont work, mechanical skills, window switch

I have a 1988 740GL volvo. the car runs fine. one day the power windows and power mirrors just stopped working. we changed the fuses and nothing happened. what should we do now. my husband has some mechanical skills. it there anything we can do to fix this matter outselfs. the windows and mirrors will not move one inch. thank you

Dear Cuca,
         Your window relay may have failed...see last posting for that procedure...the question before yours.
           Let the dealer assess needs...and do job yourself...if mechanic lets you.
             also,window switch may have failed.
