Volvo Repair: Sluggish, foot to the floor, throtle

Question
Hi
I have been to look at a V70 2.5TD 2000 at the weekend - beautiful looking car only 43000 miles however it just didn't want to go! I tried to pull away and to be honest even with my foot to the floor I swear I could have walked faster! The guy who was selling it said he thought it was an electrical problem but never bothered to get it fixed and had got used to driving it like that. Could you let me know what you think the problem might be as I really like the car but don't want to buy it if it going to cost a fortune to repair.

Thanks

Answer
Linda, more than likely its the throtle unit and the seller should have gotten a letter from Volvo saying that they will replace those units for free.  There is a recall on that part. I would make an appointment with the dealer and have them repair it.  Roger
