Volvo Repair: Squeaky belt?, fan hub, california desert
QuestionI'm hearing a shrill noise coming from area of altenator/fan hub on my 240 during acceleration only, not while idle. Is it time to replace belts? They were replaced two years ago in the California Desert after they blew out in the heat. The kid who replaced them wasn't sure how they were supposed to go on because the car's ac motor was bypassed by previous owner when ac probably went bad or needed service. So this kid has one going from alt. to center (on the back groove) and one going from center to power steering (on the front groove). I always wondered if that was correct and I'm still not confident it's right. Any suggestions?
