Volvo Repair: 99 Volvo XC70, bump in the road, volvo xc70

I've had an intermittent problem with the warning lights and odometer.  After the car is warmed up the Brake and ABS warning lights come on, then odometer and speedometer will go out.  After about a minute or two (or sometimes if I hit a bump in the road) the warning lights go off and the odometer/speedometer come back on.  Sometimes the tranmsmission warning light also flashes. Lately, if the trans light is also flashing you have to give extra gas to get the car moving after stopping...

Doesn't happen every drive but seems to happen more often in warmer weather. Any clue as to what is causing this?
My 99 volvo has only 60,000 miles.

Ah, the lovely gremlins of the XC70.  I had this problem last week.  All I did was remove the dash cap, removed and check the connectors on the instrument cluster and put it back together and the car was fine.  There may be issues in the cluster but the car hasnt failed on me yet.  Roger
