Volvo Repair: Turn Sig. & Lights Fail, volvo dealer, turn signals

Question
Several times (2-3) in the past year my 99 V70s turn signals and head lights fail. Moving the light switch will not recover the lights.  The next time I use the car the lights seem to function normal.  The local Volvo Dealer says that the switch was changed during servicing because of a recall on the switches.  He thinks that I'm nuts.  Could the new switch be bad?  What's the connection between the turn signals and head lights?  Thanks.

Answer
Barry, the headlight switch controls the headlights and yes the switches do fail.  I've replaced quite a bit of them.  What may be happening is the electrical portion of the Ignition switch may be starting to fail.  It also may be possible that the new switch is going bad also.  The only other possibility is that the hazzard switch is having issues.  Roger
