Volvo Repair: 1999 Volvo XC AWD Electrical short?, worse case scenario, volvo xc

59k miles - randomly, when at a stop, car will not accelerate when gas is hit; then after 5-8 seconds car recovers and goes; also, when driving or stopped, at random times, dash lites will lite up (flashing up arrow, ABS, etc), speedometer will drop to zero, milage counter disappears, gas dial drops; car has never lost power while driving, only when re-starting from a stop

Do I have a bad ingnition swtich? some other electrical short?

It can be the Electrical portion of the Ignition switch but I would have the car scanned by the dealer.  It may be the throtle body assembly which is under recall by Volvo.  Worse case scenario it may be a internal problem in the trans.  Hopefully will be the ignition switch.  Have it checked out.  Roger
