Volvo Repair: 1994 Volvo wagon Power seats..., volvo wagon, seat hardware

Question
I just recently purchased a Volvo (I think 850) and the electric driver's seat is stuck in a recline position. The seat will not lean forward when I pull the button forward I can hear the motor trying to make the seat go up but nothing happens. The man who I purchased the car from was aware of this problem and his mechanic had told him not to put the seat back to far and it would be fine. Well right before I purchased it someone got in the car and leaned the seat back and now it is stuck in a slightly (to reclined for me) reclined position. Do you have any suggestions? We tried pushing and pulling it while pressing the button and it did not work. Also the front right speaker does not work. When I turn the radio way up I hear crackiling noises like it wants to work but there is no music. Thank you for your time I really apprciate it!

Answer
Dear Emily,
Fixing the seat requires above average skills...
If you want to attempt a repair...you should take out the seat...place it on a large piece of cardboard...start doing a exploratory repair...if the motor works...the problem must relate to the mechanics used in making seat move...often,coins or other smaller items get caught in seat hardware...turning the seat upside down and shake it good..ya never know...it could be simple problem...
Sounds like your speaker has failed...replace both..or have Tweeter or some other quick radio installers do the job.
           Good luck,
