Volvo Repair: 89 volvo 240 check light, volvo 240, light thanks

Roger have a 89 240 volvo that because I disconnected the air mass meter plug while car was running the inside instrument panel check light now stays on.  how do i reset or turn off this light.

Tom, On the drivers firewall there is a square plug box.  Remove the cover, and put the pin in slot 2.  Turn key to on position, Hold the button for about 5 seconds.  count the flashes.  Push button again.  Read flashes.  Do this 3 times.  Example.  Code 1-2-1 is the air mass meter code.  You have to read them twice.  After the codes have been read then hold the button for 10 seconds then release.  If the light stays lit, then hold the button down for another 10 seconds. Light should be reset.  If not, then do the same procedure in slot #6.  Let me know if you need anymore help.  Roger
