Volvo Repair: volvo s70 valves/pistons, volvo s70, valve clearance

Question
I bought a 98 s70 2.4 turbo that the timing belt tensioner had broke, My plan was to replace the head with a used one. I removed the head and found that all the pistons have gouges in them from where the valves hit. Is it ok to use the pistons as-is. They aren't cracked and the gouges are about 1/16" or so in the outer raised ring of the piston.  Will this affect performance, or valve clearance of the new head?

Answer
so long is not cracked it is ok to reuse i replace like that   many times broken head's and i reused the engine block i dont think you will have any problems i never had   any problmes when the belt brakes it will  hit the piston that's how they get bent so just put cylinder head on and that is it .good luck
