Volvo Repair: 93 Volvo 850 non turbo, trans model, bad hope

Question
I have a 93 850, standard trans. About 4 months ago the radiator ruptured and I had it replaced. They replaced it with a brand new one, but it was an automatic trans model. The shop told me it was no problem they just had to plug a valve and it would work fine. I have noticed since then that the fan no longer comes on. It was fine with the cold weather, but now that the weather is warmer I notice it overheats if I'm idling too long. Just wondering if this was a common problem, and if it's likely that I'll have to replace the fan? Any advice would be very helpful.

Answer
Keith, They should have put the proper one in there but that wouldnt cause the fan not to kick on.  The relay is probably bad but try to spin the fan by hand and see if it moves freely.  If not, the shroud is probably not installed correctly or the fan itself has gone bad.  Hope this helped.  Roger
