Volvo Repair: brakes, volvo 850 turbo wagon, caliper operation

Question
I have recently purchase a '95 volvo 850 turbo wagon with 120k. I replaced the rear brake pads with some ceramics however they squeak only when slight pressure is applied to them. The rotors do not have any debris on them nor any discolorations. I think there is some slight pulsing as well. I know that the rotors cannot be resurfaced and have to be replaced. I would like to know what could be the source of the squeak and how do I know if the rotors need to be replaced.

Answer
Hello Ryan,
Noisy brakes usually means glazed discs/pads...
Todays brake pads have a great deal of material that causes excess wear to discs...metals...no more asbestos...so,your experience in common in most drivers...sticky calipers cause pads to glaze...with the car in neutral..on flat ground..you should be able to easily move car with minimum push from you....if not..check your caliper operation...
Turning discs is ok...as long as they are legal thickness.

             Good luck,
