Volvo Repair: follow up on 740 gle, test light, gle

Question
Hey thanks for your help  before (brake lights not working with headlights on) I have check all my fuse and cleaned all the terminals ears and grounds. The brake lights are working  with the headlights on but the are really quite dim so dim that they are hardly noticable. it is a 740 gle '87. ( I did not expect you to rember me or the car) It is almost like the tail lights are over powering the brake lights. Please anything you can tell me will once again be very very very appreciated. Thanks again in advance.

Answer
Hi Brandon,
Use a test light to read a circuit...easy stuff....make sure metal ears on bulb holders are clean....BE CERTAIN YOU HAVE THE RIGHT BULBS....IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
WEAK LIGHT VOLTAGE MEANS LOSS OF POWER..THE THIN PLASTIC BOARD WITH COPPER CONNECTIONS HAVE FAILED.. LOUSY
CONNECTION....BAD GROUND.
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO USE A TEST LIGHT?
It's the tool to use for this problem.

                     Good luck,
