Volvo Repair: 83 240DL Wipers dont work, rubber body, smooth installation

Hello,
A few months back the wipers on my 83 240Dl began to work
intermitantly. Sometimes they would simply stop moving, and at
other times would work only on certain settings, or move at a
reduced speed. Now they wont budge at all. I have checked the
electric motor and cleaned its contacts, and it seems to be in
working order. Also I have chekced the wiper linkage, and it is
also intact and in order. What else could be causing this?

Hi Max,
         There is a good chance that the motor is toasted...sorry to say.
          Any 240 motor 79 to 93 will fit..
          putting in the motor is not that hard...remove glove box..remove linkage and the arm on motor...spray rubber body seal with silicon..for smooth installation...be sure that the arm is properly placed...or else you may do damage.make sure brass tab...is shiny clean for good connection
