Volvo Repair: Brake 94volvo turbo, caliper pistons, silicon base

Question
I have a 94 volvo turbo wgn.  The brake pads are low and need to be replaced.  I was going to try and do the job but not having any experience with the ABS I would like to know if there is anything special I should be aware of.  Also, what type of brake pads are recommended (ceramic/semi-metallic/organic?) and supplier.
Thank you

Answer
You can do your brakes...if you realize that if you do a lousy job your pads will wear out sooner.
A few tips....make sure pads fit in  caliper freely and are not binding....check to see that caliper pistons are free....use brake clean for clean up...use hack saw blade to clean caliper areas that the pads fit in....add silicon base grease to inside areas of caliper that pads rest in.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE BRAKES ARE NOT PRESSED INTO THE DISC CAUSING RESISTANCE IN THE ROTATION OF THE WHEEL...WHILE YOU HAVE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL..........PADS WILL GLAZE...LOUSY BRAKES
Dont worry about A B S .....get organic pads...machine discs...
         Good luck,
