Volvo Repair: ignition, mike lucky, car ignition

I have the old points ignition system.  The trouble I am having, is that there is spark at the points, but none going back to the coil or to the plugs.  I have changed the coil and ignition switch, but still no luck.  I would certainly appreciate any advice you might have.

  Hi Mike,

           Lucky you...in todays car ignition systems if you loose spark...it may cost 100's to get it back.
          You've got a connection problem.
        Bad ground on dist. plate.
        Bad coil wire.
        
       Use a test light to test ignition polarity.
 
      You'll figure it out.
