Volvo Repair: sunroof S80 Volvo 2000, springisd, rick rodriguez

Question
I opened my sunroof...electrical...now it won't close...all it does is make a clicking sound.  Is this a catastrophic problem?  any idea how much it would cost to fix?

Hello Rick,  Check the owners manual,it will tell you how to close the roof in this situation,as for the cost,it depends on the failed part.Something may of lodged in the track,I recomend the dealer due to the fact that the new part,whichever it is,needs to be 'reprogramed'to the 'sunroof control module.Yes there is a separate mod.for that along with 16 more that monitor all the other cool stuff like,streeing wheel mod,climate control mod,rear elec mod,drivers door mod,ect. ...The S-80 is a whole new breed of car,not just anybody or any place can service her!Thank you and good hunting!  PKD
