Volvo Repair: rear wiper xc70, volvo dealer, volvo xc70

2003 volvo xc70

Rear wiper stopped working. It is in the parked position. The
rear wiper fuse is good. There are no other electrical problems
on the car. No combination of front and rear wiper controls will
make it work, e.g. front intermittent with rear on, front on high
with rear intermittent, etc.

Car just came out of the Volvo dealer shop for repair of
intermittent cruise control.

Any ideas on what I should look at next to try to get the rear
wiper working again?

Ask them what was the failure in the cruise control.  The fact that both of these problems are for systems that are on the steering column seems like more than just a coincedence.  There may be a problem in the steering column that has affected both systems or the dealership could have damaged the wiring for the rear wipers when they were fixing your cruise control.  Let them look at it again.  They would either fix it because it was they're fault, or they would fix it because it should still be under warranty.  Hope that helps.
