Volvo Repair: Volvo S80, engine rpms, volvo s80

Question
My car has started to decelerate for a split second when i reach 60 mph or above.  No change in MPH or RPM's just a slight hesitation for a splilt second.  Any ideas?

Answer
One of two things:

1) it was the normal hesitation that sometimes occurs because of that type of throttle system.  There is no cable.  There is a pedal sensor and a throttle motor.  This sytem can sometimes react a little slower than a regular throttle setup so if you're not used to it yet sometimes it can feel a little hesitant.

2) there was an egnine miss.  Sometimes an intermittent miss can come up that doesn't affect engine rpms but it will feel less powerful momentarily.

To find out whats going on, take the car to the dealer (not independent, they don't have the proper equipment) and let them hook up the car to the volvo diagnostic computer and they can see if any intermmitent problems were recorded.  That will let you know if there was something there or not.  Hope that helps.
