Sir,

Heater fan positions 1-4 do not turn on the fan while position 5 (full speed) does work fine.  Can you point me in the right direction? Do you suspect the switch or something on the blower motor?

Thats an easy one.  When only the max speed works it means the blower motor speed resistor pack is blown.  It uses resistors to limit the amount of voltage to the motor but they heat up and sometimes burn up; full speed however uses no resistors because its going FULL speed.  The resistor pack is located in the airducts behind the dash to help cool them off when the blower motor is on.  Part should be available from the dealership.  If you need more detailed instructions for removal and installation or pictures get a service manual to help you.  Dealer manuals are the most complete you can get but they cost alot (almost $100 a book and there are more than one), chiltons, haynes, or any other generic manual publishers manual will be like $20.  Good luck.
