Volvo Repair: 1988 volvo 240 turns over but wont start, turn signal switch, fuel pump relay

Question
my 88 240 turns over but wont start. was running fine yesterday before i replaced a turn signal switch. the turn signal switch did not work, could tampering with the turn signal switch have caused a malfunction with the ignition of fuel system? While trying to find the problem i noticed the engine control fuse was blown, i replaced it and not luck, but it did not blow again. all other fuses are good. have not checked fuel filter or pump, i dont know where they are located? please help, thank you.

Answer
I would check the fuse near the battery for the fuel system.then I would check the operation of the fuel pump relay the relay is under the passenger side dashboard behind the felt panel under the dash.the fuel pump is under the passenger side of the car and one is in the fuel tank.when the car is cranked over for a second and then the key is let go you should hear the pump run under the car for a second or 2.
