Questioni just purchased this auto and the speedometer and fuel gauges do not work.
i checked the fuses and the connections but everything seems to be connected.
also ,the heater fan doesnt work either.
i also have another dl wagon 1983 ,that the heater fan doesnt work on it either.
please help me out.
these cars are for my daughters and they really need to work .
also,do you know where i can get a wiring diagram for the volvo cr712 stereo cassette player.
iwould like to install a newer cd player and the color of the wires doesnt seem to match up.

AnswerI can not say for sure on the speedometer and fuel guage there could be a problem on the back of the cluster or if someone had it out and reconnected it wrong it can burn things out like the speedometer and fuel guage.it will need to be looked at for a proper diagnosis.
as for the heater fan most common is the motors go bad and will need replaced which is a fairly big job.cost is about 6 hours labor.while doing the motor I would also replace the resistor which is located where the motor is.
as for the wiring diagram I would try to purchase a haynes manual for the year volvo you are doing the radio in they ususally have wiring diagrams in them if not try www.volvotechinfo.com they sell manuals from this site.
