Suzuki: Suzi vitara 1995 (sidekick), vitara 1995, diagnostic section

I have just fitted a new head gasket to my 16 valve 1.6l ohc engine. I have triple checked all timing and valve adjustments but it wont start. If I disconnect the injectors and crank for a while it will fir frquenly but not run until th fuel is spent in the cylinders. When I reconnect the injectors it fires again and splutters but then ceases and smell like it is flooding. do same again same result. I am wondering if it is the ECM needs resetting and how I can do this? (profusely pulling hair out).

If it ran before, something was incorrectly hooked up in reassembly.  Go to the fuel injection section of the service manual, and find the diagnostic section, and follow it until you find what's wrong.
This isn't the kind of thing that can be diagnosed with a keyboard and crt.
