Volvo Repair: Transmission woes, torque converter, valve pressure

Question
I recently had my transmission fluid  and oil changed  — I had  111,649 miles on 1993 940.  My tranny, at first bucked into gear and dragged in second gear a bit, on ocassion, after a couple of days. The fluid change was done two days prior to a 600 mile trip. All together, I have put about 750 miles on car (incidently, they noted the incorrect mileage on my file at 116,490...I let them know, and they just said I was looking at the #s incorrectly) So, I called the dealer and they said to bring it back in could be many things. This has been fairly typical for this car after being fussed with...think my other mechanic corrected the torque converter setting. Anyway, it wasn't too bad before we went away, but now I can drive in first gear and maybe second, only. Nervous about that........I think more problems can balloon with the tranny fairly quickly. Firstly, what would your opinion be about the initial trouble and secondly, could my transmission have gotten worse w/ the 700 miles of driving. Do you think I would have any recourse? Any and all opinions are welcomed. Thanks for this in advance.

Answer
without seeing it I really can not say what the problem is.I am not sure why there would be any recourse.what did they do wrong?it is possible all this is just coincidental.I am not sure how you correct a torque converter setting.he probably adjusted the kickdown cable which can change the shift points by changing throttle valve pressure in relationship to governer pressure.if it only has 1 and 2 gear it sounds like the transmission is probably going bad.
