Volvo Repair: Volvo AC, volvo s90, load sensor

Question
My wife's car is a 1998 Volvo S90, she told me the AC was not cooling, I bought a kit at the local parts store and recharged the system. It is cooling very well now when the blue light button is pressed.  However on a trip this weekend, I noticed as I accelerate to pass another vehicle or take off from a stop light , it stops blowing cold and the car becomes uncomfortable for a few seconds, as soon as I get back to a constant speed then it works fine again.  I was told there may be a load sensor that stops the compressor on acceleration to give more power to the engine, but I have driven this car on trios before and did not notice this happening before.

Answer
at full load it will cut the compressor out.the problem you may be seeing is the air is redirecting from the vents to the defrost under acceleration.this would be due to a bad vacuum diaphragm in the  system.see if the volume of air drops from the vents on acceleration.
