Volvo Repair: S80 Rear Passanger Lock Problem, latch, child lock

Hi - I drive a 2000 S80 2.9 version.  My problem is that I cannot get the right rear door open.  The child lock is engaged on the inside door panel next to the latch, which is why it won't open from the inside, but I can't figure out how to get it open from the outside.  The lock column on the door seems to be working properly going up and down.  The door just won't open.  Thank you in advance for your time and response.

the outer handle may have come disconnected.there is no easy way to open it now.the door panel will need to be removed to try and gaing access to the lock mechanism.this will not be easy.I really have no easy way to explain it.you will need to try and get the top of the panel off to get down into the panel.
