Volvo Repair: Intermittent engine shutsdown, 1987 volvo 740, volvo 740

Question
Sorry I but the wrobg engine before.
I have a
1987 Volvo
740 Turbo
2.3L Fuel Injected TURBO

The engine shuts down intermittently while driving. The dash lights will remain on.

I will turn off the ignition and then I can  restart the engine.

I may drive several days before this happens and or it may happen several time within a few blocks.

Do you have any suggestions?

Answer
Intermittent problems are hardest to pin down. All basic settings should be checked first and car should be in good state of tune. Check all fuses, check battery connections, both at battery and where they connect (i.e. starter and ground connections).
If all checks out and you want to start replacing items, my first recommendation and least expensive would be to replace fuel injection relay.
If this doesn't help, you'll need to have a good shop check it out.
