Question

sometimes restarting the car when hot, engine will not crank as, if trying to start with d drive. But when engine is cool off everything start normal. Battery and starter is ok.
Thanks in advance.

Answer
Sorry, Re-read your question and noticed that you said it did not crank when it didn't start. Need to check your battery cables at the starter and also ground cable at block. May have corrosion or bad connection causing voltage drop to starter.

If this checks out, next thing to look at is neutral safety switch, try starting in neutral. Wiggle back and forth between gears.
