Volvo Repair: COOLING SYSTEM, coolant level, proper diagnosis

HI I HAVE A 1996 VOVLO 850 TURBO WAGON. THE PAST TWO MORNINGS WHEN I START MY CAR THE LOW COOLANT LEVEL LIGHT STAYS ON FOR  ABOUT 5 SECONDS AND THEN GOES OFF AND DOESN'T COME BACK ON. I AM CONCERNED BUT AM NOT SURE WHAT IT IS OR ABOUT HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO HAVE IT TOPPED IF THAT IS WHAT IT NEEDS. IF YOU COULD EMAIL ME BACK THAT WOULD BE GREAT! THANKS A LOT!

First, sorry for late response.I am in SW Florida and if you do not know we were just hit by  Hurricane Charley Friday and I just got power 30 minutes ago.

it could be low coolant or a problem with the low level sensor in the resevoir.topping off the coolant would not be expensive.it may also have a leak cauusing the level to get low .I would have it looked at for a proper diagnosis to avoid possible damage to the engine.
