Can I recharge my AC myself? Ive noticed a lot of local mechanics wont touch the car- is it particularly difficult?

if you have a set of air conditioner pressure guages you can.they are not difficult to add freon to.they may not want to have to replace the evaporator which is a fairly big job and they do go bad usually.there is a low side A/C fitting to charge the system just behind the passengers headlight.
